For Your Listening (dis)Pleasure

Some of you may already know, but I’ve spent times where I’ve fancied myself a bit of a musician.  A few years ago, I put in some time trying to do some composition work; this piece here is one of the results:

Evolution (4:25)

It’s very rock/electronic oriented, with a bit of a classical touch (classical = it contains piano music).  The mix is pretty bad, as I did it all myself.  I also wish I could say something cool and insightful as to how I came about the name, but I’d be just pulling your chain.  It just came to me, and it sounded like it fits.  I guess you could argue that the piece goes through it’s own “evolution” from beginning to end, and maybe even get a deep conversation built around that if you like analyzing music.  But, that’s just for the sake of argument.

I have a couple of other pieces I might post too, depending on the reactions.  For now, consider this the “middle child”; the other two pieces are fairly split around this one — one is better, one isn’t as good.

Anyways, hope you enjoy.  The past week’s been pretty hectic, but maybe I’ll get some “regular” posting done here in a couple of days.
